About RGB and HSL Color Models
Understanding the difference between RGB and HSL
RGB Color Model
RGB (Red, Green, Blue) is an additive color model used for digital displays, where colors are created by adding different amounts of red, green, and blue light. RGB values range from 0 to 255 for each channel.
HSL Color Model
HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) is a color model that represents colors in a more intuitive way. Hue is the color type (0-360°), saturation is the intensity (0-100%), and lightness determines how light or dark the color is (0-100%).
When to Use HSL
HSL is particularly useful for color manipulation tasks like creating color variations, adjusting brightness, or creating color schemes. It is easier to create harmonious color palettes by adjusting the hue while keeping saturation and lightness consistent.
